Weird

The following is a poem out of the Sillyverse and is called “Weird”.

The Sillyverse is a place where you can play chess with Bigfoot and the Yeti, use a jellyphone, meet an upside down cat and an upright bat, find a poem that isn’t there and see penguins having epic rap battles. It’s much more fun than the universe, what a wonderful place is the Sillyverse.
This charming collection of poems and illustrations will have you laughing until you spit your juice out… and then for a wee bit longer.

Available in hardcover, paperback and e-book.

Another Sketchy Update

We have just wrapped up filming on our first sketch and now we move into post production.

We filmed the last shots and recorded the voice over on the weekend. The voice over is really going to bring the whole sketch together.

We have had some challenges over the course of filming this sketch. We have had to postpone filming due to bad weather, horses not co-operating and had to get creative and make some props when things could not be sourced. All standard stuff when you’re filming, especially when you have no budget.

First Sketch Update

We have now almost finished filming the first sketch. There are only a couple of shots left to film and will then be moving on to post-production.

Filming this first sketch has been a lot of fun and we have worked with some great actors, both human and animal.

We have also been lucky to film on some great locations too. Filming in the studio is fun, but nothing beats being on location… apart from when it rains that is! Although that just adds a bit of excitement to the shoot.

Filming Loopy Entertainment

It Has Begun!

We filmed the initial few scenes of our first sketch today and despite having to postpone a couple of shots due to bad weather, it was a lot of fun.

The actors (including animal actors) put in great performances which are really going to make the sketch even better.

The crew (despite being a tad hungover) worked really hard to help us achieve the quality we were after.

There were a few minor hiccups… one being that we put a picture on the wall for one scene and now can’t get it off!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the picture off the wall? We stuck it on there with Command Strips… designed for posters and NOT picture frames. All suggestions welcome. (Please help us!)

All in all we are really excited about having finally begun filming and bringing the sketches to you in the near future.

A Few More Actors Needed

We are in search of 3 more actors to help us with one of our sketches, please see below for details.

The sketch will be filming in Auckland in September or October and is about sky diving, but don’t worry, you won’t actually leave the ground!

Please let us know you are interested so we can organise a time for your audition.

The roles will all be unpaid as we have no budget and are filming these to try and secure funding for a full comedy series.

We have filled the main roles but these roles will get almost as much screen time.

A sense of humour and willingness to be silly are a must.

Looking for Cast & Crew

We are starting to film some of our original sketches soon, but we need help. Not that kind of help! Besides… the nurses are keeping our meds up quite nicely.

No… we need help with filming the sketches. We are after some amazing cast and crew.

We are filming a sky-divers sketch and a parody of a tampon commercial.

For the Sky Divers sketch we need people who are physically fit. Don’t worry, you won’t be leaving the ground.

This sketch will be filmed in September.

For the Tampon sketch we need women who are comfortable to appear on screen in a bikini.

This sketch will be filmed in October.

Auditions for both are in early August. Contact us through our Facebook page here if you would like to audition or be part of the crew and for more info.

Please only apply if you are in the Auckland area, thank you.

P.S. We have no budget sorry, so we can’t pay you. Although you can pay us if you like?

Focus on Video

For the time being we are putting a hold on our Loopy Toons and Thoughts and focussing on bringing you more video content.

We are not stopping them forever, we just need time to create the video content as it takes a lot longer and there are only two of us. The toons and thoughts will resume once we have made a dent in our video productions.

The video jokes will continue every Tuesday and we are hoping to start filming our videos next month.

We will keep you up to date.

In the Studio

We’ve spent most of the week in the studio, filming sketches and other videos.

As is always the case when filming, we spent the majority of the time setting everything up and problem solving. The actual time filming was quite minimal. The problem solving involved… stitching up a tiny pink jumper, blue tacking a desk to some stools, covering the floor with blankets and gaffer taping a sock to the desk. The cast acted like delinquents and were unpredictable. Never work with children or animals!

We look forward to bringing these sketches and videos to you in the future.

Here is a photo with some of the cast and crew.
